Tyrone Robinson, of Bay Shore, was sentenced on Wednesday, Nov. 3, to life imprisonment plus 84 years to run consecutively to the life sentence, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.

Robinson was convicted in February 2020 of the following charges:

  • Murder
  • Seven counts of robbery and attempted robbery of drugs and drug proceeds
  • Seven counts of unlawful use
  • Brandishing and discharge of firearms
  • Four counts of being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition

“Robinson’s violent crime spree extended not only to possessing illegal drugs and weapons, and committing home invasions, robberies and murder, but also to threatening to take the life of an innocent 8-year-old child,” United States Attorney Breon Peace said. “Today’s lengthy sentence serves to protect our communities, including our children, while sending a strong message to violent offenders like the defendant that they will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

Robinson and co-conspirators robbed the homes of multiple drug dealers in Nassau and Suffolk counties between August 2015 and May 2016, the US Attorney's Office said.

The victims were at times pistol-whipped, zip-tied, threatened and shot, the Attorney's Office said.

The Attorney's Office reported that during a home invasion by Robinson on May 3, 2016, Johnathan Isaac, of Freeport, was fatally shot.

On March 25, 2016, Robinson threatened to kill an 8-year-old girl while demanding that she find money for him during a home invasion in Lake Grove, the US Attorney's Office reported.

He dropped his cellphone the following day after returning to the scene, and it was recovered by police.

The cellphone showed evidence Robinson had searched for directions for the locations which were targeted, and for news reports about his crimes, the US Attorney's Office reported.
